Difference between F3 and F3HPWhen it was introduced in 1980, the F3 came standard with a DE-2 finder. This finder was replaced by the DE-3 high-eyepoint (HP) finder in 1982. The DE-3 allows a photographer who wears glasses to view the entire viewfinder image without shifting the position of his or her eye. The camera body itself has remained unchanged since the F3's introduction. The only difference between the F3 and the F3HP is the viewfinder.
