Notebook & laptop SCSI controllers do not provide termination power. If the scanner has a defect in the termination power system, the scanner will not be recognized, or it will report SACS errors while scanning. Scanners previous to the LS-2000 and LS-30 does not have a user serviceable termination power fuse. This fuse will protect the scanner from damage if the SCSI cable is plugged into an inappropriate connections, such as a printer port.
